Renae Brown Benavidez


1974 ~ 2010 Renae Brown Benavidez, 35, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in Salt Lake City. Renae was born 28 Sept. 1974 in Fairfield, California, to Donald Philip and Laurie Mann Brown. She grew up and attended schools in California, Virginia and Utah. Renae was always a sensitive, caring person who reached out to others with empathy. Many friends have felt her caring influence and her loyalty. She has endured many difficulties and challenges during her too short life. She has overcome much. She graduated from Drug Court in 2009. She worked at Deseret Industries where she reached out to and was admired by many friends. Renae married her soul mate, Mark Benavidez Nov. 24, 2009, in Salt Lake City. She will be greatly missed by Mark, her family and friends who knew and loved her. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found great love and fellowship the past year in the Liberty 2nd ward. She is survived by her husband, Mark; three step-children, Jessie, Shela and Bryana Benavidez; her parents, Donald and Laurie Brown, Holladay; sisters, Michele (Brian) Smith, Highland; Lisa (Jesse) Bushman, Alexandria, VA; Janice Ramon and Pamela (Jared) Brown, Salt Lake City; parents-in-law, John and Evangeline Benavidez, Midvale; plus brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Her family extends sincere appreciation to all who have loved and cherished Renae for the special person she is. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garner Funeral Home, 1001 11th Ave. Salt Lake City. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home between 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. Saturday prior to the services.
