Sheldon Ralph Franson, son of Ralph M. and Inez Bisel Franson died unexpectedly from liver failure on February 12, 2012. He was surrounded by his loving earthly family and was received into the arms of many family members who preceded him in death. Sheldon was born April 11, 1945 in Oakley, Utah. He grew up in Oakley and graduated from South Summit High school. He played every sport they offered and loved his small graduating class which included many of his cousins whom he loved. After graduation he served a two year mission to the North Central States for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When he returned home his sister suggested he take her high school Home Economics teacher on a date. Two dates later he proposed to Barbara Ann Watson and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 9, 1967. Together they have seven children. After graduation from Utah State University Sheldon worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on many welfare farm projects. He retired in 2007 having served for 33 years. Sheldon could never contain his passion for the gospel, and was found many Sundays pounding the pulpit to declare his testimony. He was a temple worker at the Mount Timpanogos Temple for the past four years. He was a real life cowboy. He loved his horses and cows, he was proud to have started his own ranch. A perfect day for him was to have his sons and especially grandchildren come and work along side him on the farm. He also treasured any opportunity to support his grandchildren or children in their dreams. Sheldon was preceded in death by his parents, his youngest child, Scott William, and his beloved wife. He is survived by his children Jim (Lara) Lehi, Travis (Janet) Payson, Ryan (DeAnna) West Haven, Jennie (Andy) Christensen Ephraim, Lisa (Shawn) Mortensen Orem, and Susan (David) Jacobs American Fork, 21 grandchildren, two sisters and one brother as well as many in-laws. Funeral services Sat Feb. 18, 2012 10 a.m. by Sunset Heights Vineyard 2nd Ward in the Vineyard LDS chapel, 800 S Geneva Rd, Orem. Friends may call Fri. 6-8 p.m. Walker Sanderson Funeral home 646 East 800 North Orem and Sat at the church 9-9:45 prior to services. Burial Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the LDS missionary fund. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.walkersanderson.com.

G. Bradley Nicol passed away on November 27, 2011 due to a traumatic brain injury as a result of a fall. He was born October 7, 1964. Brad had a great sense of humor. He was a kid at heart. He enjoyed comic books and cartoons. He was an avid NASCAR fan.Brad is survived by his parents; Jerry and Sandi Nicol; sister Andrea (Roy) Langston; nephews Levi, Tristen and Riley and special Uncle Sy Felt.The family would like to thank the staff at the University of Utah Hospital for their efforts to help Brad. Especially to Brian W, in the NCCU who took special care of Brad.Memorial Services will be held Friday, December 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Memorial Chapel, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. 1974 ~ 2010 Renae Brown Benavidez, 35, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in Salt Lake City. Renae was born 28 Sept. 1974 in Fairfield, California, to Donald Philip and Laurie Mann Brown. She grew up and attended schools in California, Virginia and Utah. Renae was always a sensitive, caring person who reached out to others with empathy. Many friends have felt her caring influence and her loyalty. She has endured many difficulties and challenges during her too short life. She has overcome much. She graduated from Drug Court in 2009. She worked at Deseret Industries where she reached out to and was admired by many friends. Renae married her soul mate, Mark Benavidez Nov. 24, 2009, in Salt Lake City. She will be greatly missed by Mark, her family and friends who knew and loved her. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found great love and fellowship the past year in the Liberty 2nd ward. She is survived by her husband, Mark; three step-children, Jessie, Shela and Bryana Benavidez; her parents, Donald and Laurie Brown, Holladay; sisters, Michele (Brian) Smith, Highland; Lisa (Jesse) Bushman, Alexandria, VA; Janice Ramon and Pamela (Jared) Brown, Salt Lake City; parents-in-law, John and Evangeline Benavidez, Midvale; plus brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Her family extends sincere appreciation to all who have loved and cherished Renae for the special person she is. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garner Funeral Home, 1001 11th Ave. Salt Lake City. Kyle Clark

12/28/1964~11/22/2009 COALVILLE - Kyle Nolan Clark, 44, our beloved son, brother and uncle passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, November 22, 2009 in Salt Lake City of complications due to kidney failure. Kyle was born in Coalville, Utah to Dwain Ray Clark and Ursula Jean Hemrick Clark on December 28, 1964. Kyle lived in Coalville most of his life and graduated from North Summit High School in 1983. Since the time Kyle was three years old he loved "big rigs" and his goal and dream in life was to become a truck driver. He successfully fulfilled that dream by being a long-haul trucker and had been in all lower 48 states and five Canadian provinces. He loved seeing the beauties of the country in his travels. Kyle dearly loved his nieces and nephews. Kyle is survived by: parents, Dwain and Jean, Coalville; and siblings: Dianne (Ted) Keyes, Evanston, WY; Lizette Dutson, Salt Lake City; Nora Clark, Coalville; Eric (Vicki) Clark, Harrisville; and 11 nieces and nephews and five grandnieces. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law, David Dutson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Coalville Stake Center at 11 a.m. Viewings will be held Friday, November 27, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Coalville Stake Center and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Coalville City Cemetery.

3/7/1925 ~ 11/6/2009 Our loving Dad, grandpa, brother, and friend, DeLoy Bisel passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, November 6, 2009.DeLoy was born in Woodland, Utah to David Alexander and Ethel Firth Bisel on March 7, 1925. DeLoy lived in Woodland and attended local schools, graduating from South Summit High. He met the love of his life, Marguerite Louise Stokes, and they married April 26, 1943; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. While providing for his family, he devoted his life to serving others. Together with his wife the lives of many were influenced for good. He sincerely cared for others, which endeared him to them. DeLoy was a successful farmer, dairyman, logger, and all-around businessman owning his own trucking and construction business. He was a visionary in his work, serving on the Board of Directors for South Kamas Irrigation, Sunrise/Bench Creek Irrigation, Summit County ASCS, Cemetery District, Hi-Land Dairy and Woodland Mutual Water. His purpose and vision was always to improve the community. In 2002, DeLoy was recognized as an outstanding Community Builder by Summit County. Dad loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and lived it. He served in the Stake Seventy, Bishoprics, Young Men, Scouting, as a home teacher and other various callings. He earned the M-Men award. Preceded in death by his wife Louise, daughter Elizabeth Ann Stevens, parents and 12 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Judy Ann (George) Phillips, Nephi; Mary Lou (Alvin) Gines, Murray; JoDe (Bill) Miles, Woodland; Vicki (Terry) Atkinson, Kamas; Georgia (Bob) Bates, Francis; Billie Sue (Earl) McNeil, Woodland; Bonnie (Tom) Crook, Blythe CA; DeLoy Jr. (Trudy) Bisel, Woodland. His legacy continues with 36 grandchildren and 68 great grandchildren. Also survived by brother-and sister-in-laws Jack (Ann) Stokes; Bill (Rita) Stokes; Tom (Kaaren) Stokes; Dick (June) Stokes; Pat (Marv) Lewis. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, November 10, 2009, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Woodland Church. Visitation continues Wednesday, November 11, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 (noon) at the Woodland Ward Chapel. Interment will be at the Woodland Cemetery. Heart felt gratitude goes out to the staff of the Heber Valley Medical Center for the loving comfort and care in Dad's final hours.

Gwendolyn Bisel Stephens

Gwendolyn Bisel Stephens 1917 ~ 2009 Gwendolyn Bisel Stephens passed away September 17, 2009 at the age of 92. The daughter of David A. and Ethel Bisel, she was born June 10, 1917 at Bench Creek, Utah, and grew up in nearby Woodland. She attended LDS Business College and worked in Salt Lake City until the time of her marriage. She married Frank J. Stephens on September 5, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple, and moved to Tooele, where she spent the remainder of her life.An active member of the LDS Church, she served in numerous callings, and was a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple for many years. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker, and worked for more than 20 years at J.C. Penney, retiring in 1980. She was a talented seamstress, an excellent cook, and enjoyed working in her beautiful flower garden. She is survived by her children, Lynn Bryan (John), Tooele; David Bisel (Susan), Logan; Alene Lancaster (Steve), Littleton, Colorado; Jan Phillips (Jack) Kaysville, Kim (Kim), West Jordan; and a brother, Deloy Bisel, of Woodland. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 23rd at the Tooele Third Ward, 141 West Utah Avenue (200 North). A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the chapel, prior to the services.

Crittenden Family Update (Vera's Pauline)

Mom really loved her family

She cared and kept close count

Although, she’s gone, we’ve carried on

Here’s her report, it’s quite an amount!

Ted & Pauline had five children

Three boys and two girls we all adore

With their marriages and families

The count is now One Hundred and Four

The children are now growing old,

with families of their own

They’ve worked and served in many ways

Remembering the example they were shown

Within the ranks there’s variety, just a few that we will mention:

Furniture Builder and Cabinet Maker, Disc Jockey, HRS, CPA, MBA, Dietician,

Nurse, Border patrol, Scrapbookers, Construction manager, Students, Caretakers,

Helicopter Pilot, Production Specialist, Entrepreneur, Lawyer, Piano teachers,

We also have within our family Librarians, Pharma-Rep, Speech Pathologist,

Realtors, Florist, Tourist, Managers of marketing, vitamins, trucks and such,

Family Therapist, Travel Agents, Landscapers, then there’s moms and dads,

masseuses’, and gardeners- all with a very special touch…

So, in 2009, here’s an “account” of mom’s posterity…

This year:

One mission was honorably completed, one missionary leaves soon, and one Valedictorian

Two babies on the way (that we know of) and two cub scouts

Three average times that Grandpa Crittenden goes fishing each week

Four Grandchildren will turn THIRTY

Five great grandchildren will enter kindergarten in the next few weeks

and

Five great-grandchildren entered the waters of Baptism this year

Six The average number of fish that dad catches each week

Seven grandchildren relocated this year, moved houses or states. . .

Eight working in the Primary, two are Presidents

Nine the number of states that we are scattered across

Ten ARE OVER FIFTY!

Eleven working in Young Men and Young Women

Twelve little ones are under one, teething, crawling, learning to walk (mom would LOVE this!!)

And THIRTEEN…..Grandma would be a GREAT Grandma, with 36 great-grandchildren… (under 13 !)

And so as a new generation plays out

Learning to walk, pottie, count, ride horses, swim, sew, and dribble

writing their names or just learning to scribble

As they grow, we’ll teach them what their grandma was about,

Her love, her faith, And to love one another

Yes, great is our potential - the posterity of our mother

We love the Brown family and we are glad to be a part of you.

Vera Bisel & J Parley Brown Reunion 2009

A Vera Bisel and J Parley Brown Reunion was held last weekend at Heber Valley Girls Camp. Family members checked in at the Brown Reunion Pavilion to receive their cabin and yert assignments, sign up for workshops and activities, and receive name tags, sun visors, & a copy of the family newsletter & directory. In the pavilion we displayed carvings, photographs, genealogy, photo books, a quilt, artwork, and other talent displays from various family members, and had toys available to entertain younger campers.

We split into 3 smaller groups for dinner (by campsite) then had a nice program, beginning with a song which had been sung by Great Grandpa John Brown, followed by some family stories and remembrances, jokes, testimonies, and more music. Fire restrictions were lifted just in time for some s'mores and campfire stories and fun.

Breakfast was again served in the three smaller family groups (Pauline & Ted's family, Garry & Patty's family, and all the rest together in one group). Then we split up for workshops (natural cleaning tips, family history, career planning, understanding Medicare & Medicaid...) by individual family members. Boating, hiking, high adventure activities (a ropes course), and charitable project involving toys for needy children were also available. We all enjoyed a catered lunch together in the pavilion, followed by a family meeting in which a representative from each family group shared family news and happenings, kicked off by an impressive prose run-down of happenings with the Crittendens by Cindy.

Many thanks to Donald & Laurie's family for all the planning and work that went into this reunion. The next Brown reunion falls to Rodney & Sandy's family. We're looking forward to it!

This is BeauDee Bisel Richards, I am DeLoy Bisel, Jr.'s daughter and I have a story I would like to share with all of you. I love Woodland which is where I have lived, and I did not want to leave Woodland. But after talking Wacey, my husband, out of not leaving to move to Oregon once...even I could not pass up the offer the new job was giving to us. So I hesitantly left my family and my beautiful valley of Woodland that I love. We moved to Oregon in October and the first week I went to church the lady conducting Relief Society was fun and bubbly!! She asked me to stand and introduce myself and tell where I was from. I was shocked when she said "You moved from Woodland, Utah? I think I have family there we need to talk." Not to many people know were Woodland, Utah is so when she said she had family there I was a little excited!!!

I did not get to talk to her until a few weeks later. I had been having a hard time being away from my family and I trying to adjust to Oregon and our new life here. It had been about 3 weeks and I was homesick and did not know anyone, so when the Relief Society president called to get to know me I was so excited to have a adult conversation and get to know someone from my new surroundings!! While we were at the park the cute bubbly lady in the presidency came to tell me that they had a "mommy and me" for moms and kids at the church that day and I could go get to know some of them and let my girls play. As we were walking down the sidewalk to our cars she reminded me she had family in Woodland and I thought for sure I would know who they are, Woodland is a small town and I know most people there. But when she said "Well my maiden name is Bisel", I about died. I think my reaction was "SHUT UP, my maiden name is Bisel" and then we went on to figure this out! Turns out that she is Susan Bisel Green. I think we decided we are cousin's once removed. I had heard so much about Uncle Rean and I think when I told my dad we were moving to Oregon he told me that Uncle Rean had lived in Oregon. But I never thought about having anyone I would be related to here and in my ward!! It has been great to see Susan every Sunday and know I have family right here. It is a small world after all!!!
This picture is Susan and my girls!! Susan Invited us to come to her house and make turkeys for Thanksgiving!! We had tons of fun thank you Susan!!!
